XST@TYK...if you can't afford a pop filter than buy some panty hose and string them to a clothes hanger. Your clipping was unbearable.

Nice to see two quality performers at this shit.
I would give flow to P64, real smooth. Wyze wasn't far behind. But whatever advantage P64 had in the flow department was made up 10 fold by a barrage of Wyze's personals and clever wordplay spins. If this was a showcase P64 would be beast. But you gotta throw punches to win battles. Wyze FTW.

well played, sirs.

i figured this one would be close after byron's last battle and it didn't disappoint. both had great mic presence and flow. gas echoing mic quality actually worked just fine for me since the track seemed appropriate for it.

the first verse was almost too close to call. byron came out, guns blazing, super aggressive and got things started right. gas came back with some really creative responses and complex flow that basically created a second round that would decide the battle for me. that's when gas took it in my opinion. byron spent his verse saying that gas didn't hurt him, and i would have liked for him to be attacking more. when the attacks did come, they weren't very personal, except saying that gases first verse was generic, which i thought was a good callout. but gas came back with rebuttals and attacks for the majority of his verse that were personal.

Overall, I appreciate the attempt at quickness from Byron. Most of the time, I could make out what you were saying with a few listens. I think you've gotta go smarter not harder though. I think the verse felt rushed even when you weren't rapping quickly. Maybe move the wave a couple clicks farther down the line so you're less on top of the beat. It felt like you were peacocking with your flow more than you were trying to have a battle with Gasmasq. And you still almost pulled it out. So if you add some personals, you'll be hard to beat.
Round 1: 10-10
Round 2: 10-9 Gas.
Gas FTW

apples and oranges.

i have listened to this like 20 times trying to figure out a winner because it's ridiculously close. i'm gonna have to give it to blest by a ball hair. pigpen came with the line of the battle with the "i'm no pussy, i'm not cunt meat, so i'm not impressed by your tongue speed." but overall, i think some of his lines were a little more predictable and less clever than i'm used to hearing from him. on the other hand, blest improved something severe. i appreciate the intricacy of the verses, but i would still like to hear your words hitting a rhythmic pattern. but better rebuttals than i have ever heard from you, and definitely a nice change from self-glorification to focusing in on your opponent. the only line i thought was a stretch was saying pigpen was filler, when the guy actually attacks quite a bit.

props to both of you. i'm not one to call draws, but i would love an overtime round on this one.

meoooow.

lol that cat sample was ridiculous. i listened to this so many times to try and sort out a winner and that meow made me laugh every single time.

Give this one to Fat Beats. Bit improvement in lyrics and delivery. Rampant Musik showed up too with some good mic presence and confidence.

Overall, a good amount of the first verses were spent not battling, then fat beats went rebuttal crazy in his second verse. Rampant came back a lot more aggressive in his second verse, but the attacks were a little simple like the life after death opener. There was some good stuff with the hype track/idols call out, but overall, Fat Beats seemed more comfortable in the battle, more creative (in spite of the meow) and the flow was more intricate. Good battle!

Mao

This is a pretty close battle mainly because they had different strengths and weaknesses. Wordplay went to Mao. Rebuttals went to Rezzy. Presence went to Mao. Flow clarity went to Rezzy. Complexity of flow went to Mao. Personals went to Rezzy.

In general, I think most of the categories were pretty close, except for presence, and that ultimately puts Mao over the top. I thought it was neck and neck in terms of content, but Mao sounded like he was in a battle while Rezzy sounded like he was reading off a piece of paper without much emotion. Plus it sounds like Rezzy lowered his voice (?)

Overall, an entertaining battle. You guys both have some skills, good sheeiiit.

the saaauce

this shit is wild.

This shit was crazy entertaining.

Overall: PiGPEN gets it.

Details: GSK has sick flow and cadence. He is one of the most entertaining rappers on NG with all his crazy background sounds and his not give a shit attitude, plus he's consistent. He never falls off beat and has mic presence; you can't teach that. GSK: Your only issue is content. You can keep in the "fap on your dad, I'm gonna have sex with all your family members" crazy shit, but you HAVE to incorporate more personals. The ones you have are good, but you need more. Your mic presence shows your confidence, and if you used 8-10 of those "I don't give a shit" bars on personals and witty rebuttals you will win battles. I guarantee it. I'm shocked you let him get away with saying you got knocked out in the first round and you weren't on the C.D. You ARE on the CD. You lost in the second round, which was the same round he lost in. Dig through his profile page and come up with shit to clown. Go through his flash work and his audio shit and come up with stuff to clown. You always start strong as fuck, and I bet if your battles were 80 percent attacks and 20 percent crazy shit, you would be very very difficult to beat.

On the other hand, PiGPEN...some of your best stuff to date. You closed with "blue" wordplay in both of your verses, but generally a good mixture of keeping the attacks coming and being ridiculous.

Flow: GreenSkull Kid 10-9
Attacks: PiGPEN 10-9
Creativity: PiGPEN 10-9
Presence: Tie.

Good shit from both. Most entertaining battle so far.

Very very nice.

the best battle so far. flow from both guys was clean. i had to give it a few listens, and eventually i came to the same conclusion that others have; amtmann was more personal, and that turned out to be the deciding factor since the flows were neck and neck. i will say amtmann sounds like the second coming of exceptid from the first tourney. you guys both did really well. going with RJA.

Solid.

Going with Mao.

Obii spent the first round not mentioning MickeyMao....at all. If this was a showcase, I would say Obii was a more polished rapper. But Mickey spent two rounds attacking, and Obii showed up in the second round. If Obii had a first round the way his second round was (which was dope), he probably would have pulled it out.

Mao always has good content, and my main observation about what he can work on is being a little too far on top of the beat. Generally in hip hop, I think it's better to drag a little after the beat than it is to come in early. It feels like speeeeed....then slow down and hit the rhyme. speeeeed then slow down and hit the rhyme. If you take those speedy parts and make sure they are hitting a rythmic pattern on beat, people will respond to your battles, because the content is pretty boss.

Obii is clean, safe, polished. I could use a little more emotion, but it's obvious the guy can rap. Seeing as this is a battle though..
